Pirastro Goldflex Rosin for Violin and Viola

I use Goldflex rosin because it lasts and lasts while performing long shows. I do not like how it cakes up on the body of my instrument and my strings, but the same “sticking” issue is what gives such great response. I always keep my violin clean but a little extra elbow grease is needed with Goldflex. Worth the added effort!

however, I expected this rosin to make my sound considerably better but it wasn't that big of a difference from my old rosin

Just received this rosin yesterday, and it looks awesome! haven't tried it yet, but I have heard many good things about pirastro gold rosin. however, the rosin doesn't arrive in the package indicated by the picture (not that it matters haha), it comes in a small black box with a white cloth covering the rosin.

I find it works well at restoring student bows that have a sheen or are slick and won't play - a couple good rubs and it's working again. One can continue with the student's regular rosin or get the hair replaced, but at least is on their way again. Wasn't needed often, but always had a cake with me as the solution of choice.
