Hoffmann Amadeus Cello Outfit The Amadeus is hand-made from quality maple, spruce and ebony. Unlike many cellos in this price range, the Amadeus is carved from solid wood, not laminated. The reason we insisted upon this is simple: A carved, solid wood cello sounds far better than any laminated on the market today, at any price. Of course, we didn't stop there - teachers will appreciate the lovely hand-feel, usually found only on expensive cellos. The bridge and soundpost are expertly fitted for optimum sound quality. The ebony pegs turn smoothly. Responsive syntheitc strings work perfectly with the fine carbon-fiber tailpiece with four built-in string adjusters.
