Manhasset Double Lip Automatic is the same as the standard model #AC48 in every way except it has an extra shelf. Helpful when you need pencil, eraser, and/or bow on shelf and want to turn page without launching them onto floor!

Double-Lip Stand is the way to go

I own two Manhasset double-lip stands, and the extra lip adds a lot of convenience for just a few extra dollars. This is especially true for a string player. I can lay my bow, or pencil, or glasses, etc. on the lower lip while working with the sheet music on the upper lip without fear of knocking objects off the stand. And the stand takes up virtually no extra space.

Buy it

"Hi all, so this is a review of the stand, but also a review of the other review, which almost made me not buy this stand. First off, for context, I am a cellist, a woman, not the handiest and I live alone. So the parental review that implied it was hard(ish)
to put together and had some low-quality plastic piece, made me hesitate and I almost didn't get it. But honestly, it couldn't be more off. This is a great stand, and I put it together with (I'm not kidding) a wrench from the dollar store and a butter
knife. There is one bolt (that you can mostly tighten by hand) and a regular screw. That's it. No special wrenches are needed here. You don't need special tools at all. If you put together anything in your life, and I mean anything, be it Ikea furniture,
a logical train of thought, or even a simple sentence, you will be just fine. Also, the plastic piece is in the back, and I prefer it because it's where the music stand fits into the bar at the bottom, if it were metal, it would make noise over time you moved
it and be super grating and wear down over time. I have no idea who wrote that review. But honestly, they couldn't possibly be more wrong. A happy cellist"

Good

So far so good. Strong stand. Glad to have the double lip to store pencil, tuner, and rosin without needing to hunt for these items behind or under music books. Can be pull up high enough for a standing string player. Took longer to put together because we had to search for 2 wrenches to assemble it. Once we had the proper tools, assembly took only a few minutes. Gave the stand a "Good" rating instead of "Great" because one part of the stand is made out of plastic. We anticipate that if we adjust the tilt of the stand as frequently as it is done at a school, the plastic component will break.
