What is Shar Music’s return policy?
Shar Music offers a 30-day guarantee for all orders. Most items returned in “like new” condition with original packaging within 30 days of delivery will receive a full credit or refund.
If an item is returned in less than “like new” condition—meaning it shows signs of use, wear, or damage—a 30% restocking fee will apply. At the discretion of Shar Music, additional deductions may be applied for returned items with heavy use or missing parts
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer and are not refundable. If your order qualified for free shipping and the remaining value of your purchase is reduced below $49, the cost of outbound shipping will also be deducted from your credit or refund.
Can I return an instrument, bow, or outfit?
Yes! Instruments, bows, and outfits are covered under our 30-day guarantee. They must be in like-new condition to receive a full credit or refund. If the item shows damage, wear, or has been used beyond basic inspection, depreciation costs of up to 50% from your original purchase price may be deducted from your credit or refund.
What items are final sale or non-returnable?
The following items are non-returnable and final sale:
- Clearance or Dutch Auction items
- Digital downloads
- Final sale items
- Gift cards
- Kun 7 shoulder Rests, due to their customizable nature
- Opened consumables, including strings, rosin, polish, cleaners, and cleaning cloths
- Outlet, pre-owned and blemished items
- Pirastro Korfker Rests, due to their customizable nature
- Samples
- Special-order merchandise
- Trade-in credits
If these items are received back, no credits or refunds will be issued.
Can I return rosin or strings that were used?
No. Rosin is considered used if the surface has visible marks or scratches. Strings are considered used if the ends are curled, wound, or show any signs of installation.
Can I return polish, cleaners or cloths?
Yes, if they are unopened and in original packaging. A 30% restocking fee will apply if they are returned in less than like-new condition.
How long does it take to receive my refund?
Credits or refunds are typically processed within 7 to 10 business days after your returned item has been received and inspected. This time can vary depending on your credit card issuer or banking institution.
How do I start a return?

Our team will issue you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number which is required before sending back your item.
- Please write the provided RMA number on the shipping label and NOT on the product box itself.
- Items must be returned in the condition they were received, including all accessories, documentation, and packaging materials. Items not received in like-new condition are subject to deductions from the full credit or refund.
- The product should be packed in the original product box with any UPC codes still intact.
- When repacking the product box, avoid using duct tape or other adhesives that can leave residues on the product box or packaging.
- Shar Music recommends using a shipping method that is trackable, such as FedEx or UPS.
Who pays for return shipping?
Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer unless an item was defective or the wrong item was sent by Shar Music
If your order qualified for free shipping and the remaining value of your purchase is reduced below $49, the cost of outbound shipping will also be deducted from your credit or refund.
Can I return a gift card?
No. Gift cards are not eligible for return and cannot be exchanged for cash.
What if I miss a promotion or discount window?

How can I cancel or change my order?
To cancel or make changes to your order, please contact our Customer Service teamus at 800.248.7427 within 2 hours of placing your order online or by phone.
We process and ship orders quickly, so changes requested after this window are not guaranteed
What if my item is defective?
We stand behind every product we sell. If your item is defective and it’s been less than 30 days since delivery, please contact our Customer Service Team. We’ll issue a return authorization code and give you the option for a replacement or full credit or refund.
If it’s been more than 30 days, please reach out to our Customer Success Team. These are handled on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Shar Music.
