American Case Company® Eagle Viola Case

Only downside is that it is large (has to be because it's adjustable, but my 15.25" viola doesn't really need all that space LOL). It adjusts well and the viola is safe and stable, and I didn't want to spend the big bucks for a case that would fit better, so it's all good! The interior is lovely!

Contrary to a few reviews I've heard, this case has not ripped apart in a matter of months. I am a university student who has been normally using this case for one and a half years and only one rubber stopper on the case's belly came off (and thankfully, since I wish they weren't there in the first place). If you take care of this case as you do your instrument, you won't have any problems (and I dread to see the quality of these reviewers' instruments). The only problem I have with this case is that it does not have a thing that connects both halves of the case to prevent it from opening too far. This case also includes an instrument cover and bag.

I was looking for a nice heavy, solid case now that I am done with college. I am concerned with protection, not weight.
I wish this case worked. However when I got mine in the mail I quickly noticed that the blanket was made very crooked and lumpy. That's not a major issue, so I happily used the case for a few months. By month 8 it was hopeless. The shell of the case is heavy but very thin and wobbly (you can flex the shell on the bottom very easily), and one of the exterior plastic bumper knobs (what are they really called?) came off with only very light use. And Finally just the other day the latch decided to quit letting me open the case. Now I can only open the case if I pull like crazy at that thing for several minutes. The outer is ripping after doing this only 3 times. It is not locked - I checked multiple times.
I wish this case were the kind of quality it should be. This was the only case they had that would fit my viola and my needs. I should be clear - Shar has not let me down before. I just wish this case were a whole lot better.
