Wonderful book for teachers and parents. The first section is directed at parents and their expectations and the second is how to start teaching children.

This book is more than just building violin skills. Thanks to this book, I am learning about how to support my kid in his journey to learn violin. As soon as I started implementing the ideas and concepts from Edmund, I experienced a very positive change in my kid's practice and relationship with me.

This book has saved me countless hours of struggle and helped me guide parents in doing the same. It is written to work through from the very beginning starting with the adult "home teacher" first and then adding the child, though I believe any parent
who is still working with their child on Suzuki Book 1 can benefit IMMENSELY from this book. The secret ingredient is the engaging way Sprunger talks about how to struggle together with your child so they can come out at a better place when the struggle has
passed. Don't do what I did -- I bought it, then it sat on my shelf for a year, then I read it. Read it right away and start enjoying your violin time at home! : ) It is now required reading for all of my studio parents.

I used this book with my beginning students this year. My parents found it helpful. The first half of the book covers most of the questions parents have about their role in supporting their beginning violinist. The second half of the book gives step by step instructions, along with pictures, for activities that teach bow and violin hold basics, the Twinkle rhythms, and all the basic skill components needed to play Twinkle Twinkle Little
Star.
