AWESOME Bow

I just purchased this bow from the trial and I must say it is nothing but AWESOME!! It is very slightly heavier than the Luma bow but it produces a very solid and smooth tone with a bit more volume too. I would give this the highest recommendation possible. I have been playing the violin for soon to be 30 years and I have never had this good of a tone.

Codabow Joule

Great bow. The tip is a bit heavier than I expected. The frog is smaller than other bows which allows more playable hair.

Not for everyone

I LOVE this bow... it's like it was designed specifically for ME ... it's weighted a little tip heavy, so can make some more elaborate classical bowings a little tricky, but I mostly play bluegrass... I like this bow better than all the other bows I tried (even up to $2500!)

love it!

i didn't know much about bows when i bought this one. i have only been playing violin for about 6 months. that being said, i took my never tried bow still in the package with me to my lesson today. my teacher tried it before me while i held my breath. she loved it. and believe me, she is very particular! next, i tried it. i can't believe the difference in sound even on my cheap old violin. no more scratching and screeching. i can stand to hear myself play! i hesitated when i made this choice over the other less expensive carbon fiber bows. what sold me was a review i read. the reviewer was an experienced violinist vs a student like myself. so i took a chance and now i must admit, i love it. to be fair, i have not tried the other coda bows so i can't compare. HOWEVER i don't intend to send it back.

From back-up to primary

I gave my back-up bow to my granddaughter who had grown into needing a 4/4 bow and purchased the Joule as my new "back-up". My primary bow has been a Klaus Becker C2 which is a great sounding bow on my violin. However I find myself repeatedly reaching for my CodaBow Joule - it is becoming my primary bow because of how smooth is plays and how rich it sounds. I played both for my teacher and she said the Joule sounds richer. I previously rated my Klaus Becker C2 bow 5 stars. I stand by that rating, so I guess the Joule will have to be a 5+. They're both great bows.
