This supple pernambuco stick provides precise handling for the advanced player. Capable of the most advanced bow techniques offering a refined, warm tone. The balance point lies close to center-frog.

Round pernambuco stick. Ebony frog with silver mountings.

Bows from the Guy Laurent workshop are amongst our most popular, serving the most demanding advanced students and serious amateurs. In the tradition of the great French archetiers, we are proud to offer these impressive bows of fine character and outstanding playability. For the violinist seeking a strong bow with very warm sound, excellent control and fast response, but without breaking the bank, look no further! Easily comparable to European bows costing twice the price, these master bows are from the finest workshops in China.

Do you need a new bow? Most players, regardless of skill level, eventually come to the realization that a new bow would be beneficial to their technical and musical development. If your current bow feels like it slips and skates on the surface of the string... if you have a hard time producing more than just a few tone colors... if your off-the-string bowings are noisy and hard to control, then you should consider trying different bows.

Nice bow at a great price

I just took this new bow for a spin, and it fires everything well. Nimble off-the string playing, nice, clear sound and, as the description on the web page says, feels good in the hand. I have a$10,000 French bow, and the weight ratio is almost identical. Happy with my purchase.

Great bow

A student I've been assisting teaching needed a new bow. He intended to do an in home trial of multiple bows in the $400-600 range. However, over a sale recently on Shar, we noticed this bow-a bow that says it's usually 825. It was on sale for 469 with an addition discount with a promo code. That price for an $800 bow seemed too good to be true, but we decided to give it a go. When we recieve it, I compared it with my current bow (an old German bow). While I still preferred the sound of my bow, this bow impressed me greatly. The light weightness of this bow really improves precise fast passages. It's sounds quite clear. It's still on sale at the time of this review for 469, and I'm not sure if it'll go back up to 825 or not, but I believe for 469 it's a no-brainer. And even at 825, it's still a competitive bow. My student and i are very pleased. Definitely my go to if asked for a good bow suggestion.
