As a parent, have you ever asked yourself these questions: Why doesnt my child listen to me when I give the same directions the teacher gave? Should we switch to a different teacher, or would a new instrument help? How do I get my child to play from the heart?

Building on over 20 years of experience as a violin teacher, including multiple positions with the Suzuki Association of the Americas and the American String Teachers Association, Edmund Sprunger answers some of the most common concerns of parents who practice with their children. (272 page paperback).

very, very helpful book

My child's teacher recommended this book. It is not just a book of tricks although it is full of good ideas. It focuses on attitudes and relationship not in a theoretical and unapproachable way, but inspires very practical changes that no matter how well you are already doing will probably make practice time even better. And if you are floundering, this book could change your life!

Read it now and reap the benefits

If you have a child studying music, you know how expensive lessons, a decent instrument, strings, and orchestra fees can be. This book is a bargain! It will help you to get the most out of the time and energy your child is investing. This book is partly a guide to wholesome family life and a balanced approach to each child as a unique individual. As a music teacher, I am impressed with the author's maturity, understanding and kindness.
