HP Lutherie
HP Lutherie Pickup System for Cello
REVIEW VIDEOS
The same system installed in HP Lutherie’s line of Iris violins, now available for your standard acoustic violin. Easy to install, with no modification of your bridge required. Very accurate tone, very powerful, with extremely high signal-to-noise ratio, eliminating virtually all extraneous noises. Violin/viola preamp circuitry is built into the chinrest – simply remove your current chinrest, and replace with the included chinrest. Cello and bass pickup systems contain the preamp circuitry in a small wood component that mounts on the tailpiece. Kit includes a variety of attachment brackets, to fit most bridges, pickup, extra 12V battery, chinrest wrench, cable, and instructions, all packed into a wood box.

HP Lutherie
French Luthier Herve Prudent has been a bassist his entire career, immersed in a multitude of genres. Playing the bowed bass opened new vistas for him early in his career, which led him, 30 years ago, to create his own instruments. Since those early days, Herve has crafted instruments for scores of top-level artists. Constantly experimenting with electronics, combining piezo with magnetic pickups and augmenting with electret microphones, Herve has been driven to create the most natural possible sound. His vision of the amplification of acoustic and classical instruments led him to create pickup systems for entire orchestras. The artist Woodkid (Yoann Lemoine), notable film and video composer and producer, has utilized Herve's systems extensively.
The HP Lutherie pickup system captures a very wide range of tonal colors, yet is very powerful. The dynamic range and bowing nuances of the acoustic playing style are also captured, which will be appreciated by the skilled acoustic artist. Noise is kept to a bare minimum due to the extremely high signal to noise ratio of the electronic system.
Today, in his workshop in France, Herve Prudent has created an entire collection of acoustic and electric violins, under the Iris banner. Crafted with a luthier's deft touch, not manufactured on an assembly line, HP Lutherie instruments possess qualities that only unique, hand-made instruments can have. Proprietary and personal designs, careful craft, finely-tuned electronics, and perfect hand feel, will inspire the motivated artist to reach new musical frontiers.
