Schmidt Workshop Cello Bow

This bow is super lightweight and perfect for little beginner cellists.

The Schmitt were up to my demands. Young students having trouble with fiberglass and carbon fiber bow==two heavy fro little hands. With one student his hand position at the frog and his arm movement, especially on 16th notes improved immediately. I will call you after the news school year begins for addition Schmitt bows and maybe for you to suggest another maker, just for comparison.

Excellent quality cello for a beginner

This cello bow is really heavy.

I got this bow as part of my starter cello kit. For the price, I was surprised at how nice the bow felt in the hand- nicely balanced! But the hair on this bow could not be loosened so that it touched the wood of the bow, in fact inches away! The bow has little camber, and I suspect it was haired accordingly, although it may have shrunk a little also in our dry climate.
