REVIEW VIDEOS

A fine example of one of the most highly sought after English bowmakers. An agile pernambuco stick with excellent balance, this carefully crafted bow is waiting to enhance your playing.

James Tubbs (1835 – 1921) was one of the most prominent and prolific English bowmakers, making thousands of bows throughout his career. He was trained by his father, William Tubbs, for many years before he eventually started his own shop in the 1850s. James Tubbs was an exceptionally gifted bowmaker, and has been placed in the same category as other renowned bowmakers including Tourte, Peccatte, and Voirin.

A red-brown pernambuco stick, round in shape changing to octagonal at the butt end. The frog is of ebony and silver with pearl eyes at each of the faces. The button is capped in silver as is the head plate. Stamped JAS TUBBS.
