Lion Model 1800 Carbon Fiber Violin Case

Design is poor, can't fit bows into the middle two slots and bows do sometimes come loose due to less than ideal placement of the buttons, hanging just by their tips. Now all the screws that hold the buttons are completely rusty. Probably not so much of an issue but it looks horrible.

I relegated this case for my back up violin, didn't carry it around whatsoever and today when I pulled it out of the closet, the unit that's supposed to hold my violin down was completely loose, watch the video below.

I strongly recommend to look at some of the old fashioned cases or BAMs, this is absolutely unacceptable quality to hold precious instruments.

My case dropped from a car seat to the ground and cracked from that landing. I asked Shar about warranty coverage, and they said that that would not be covered. I thought that carbon fiber would have been stronger than that, which is why I spent the money on the case. I'm very disappointed.

I have had this case for a little over a year and a half now. I love that it is light weight and easy to carry. The straps are comfortable and feel very secure when wearing it. I always keep it combination locked when carrying it to keep the latches in place. The toggles can easily be moved and the case can open. I’ve also found that the Velcro that holds the neck of the violin in the case begins to wear quickly. I have to press the Velcro down for it to hold. I have opened my case a couple times to find the neck not strapped in. The same applies for the shoulder rear Velcro strap. My bow fits on the bottom spinner or the top spinner, but the shape of the case presses on the bow if I use the inner two slots or spinners. There’s much I love about this case and there are several things that are beginning to frustrate me after only a year.

After reading the previous reviews, I placed an order for this case. As soon as I opened the box, I was shocked at how different the color was, from what is shown on the website. I even checked the invoice to make sure it was the color I ordered. (I ordered
ìOde to Blue.) Itís almost what Iíd call powder blue, instead of the darker color that is pictured. Also I have had this case only about a week and it has several dings in it already. I am being careful with it, but it seems the slightest bump knocks the blue
color off and leaves a little white spot. After reading how durable this case is supposed to be, I was expecting better than this. I do think it is good protection for the violin, it can hold 4 bows and your shoulder rest, and itís very light weight and comes
with very comfortable back pack straps, all of which are good. I would not recommend ordering this case though, especially for the price.

This is the most rugged case Iíve ever seen bar none. Itís also extremely light. There is a place to store a shoulder rest and a little pouch for rosin and maybe a contact tuner. There is an external snap on music holder that I heed my spare strings and a couple of (so called) penny whistles in. I keep my music on an iPad which goes in my backpack. The four bow spinners are the best Iíve ever seen. Alas, thereís one feature missing. Iím thinking of installing LED lights that go on when I open the case. Not kidding!
