Patterned after a Domenico Montagnana of 1740, this example from 3rd generation Italian maker Sofia Vettori is a perfect companion for the player looking not only for a fine Italian investment, but also a crystal clear, sonorous violin able to fill a concert hall.
This violin is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Vettori, as well as an album of photographs documenting the violin being made. The violin is named after a bridge called "Capello" in Italy and has a decorative painting of the bridge located above the end button.

The back is of one piece of maple cut on the slab of light flaming. The ribs and scroll are of similar maple. The top is of two pieces of spruce cut on the quarter of narrow width grain widening slightly at the flanks. The varnish is red-orange over a golden ground.

Sofia Vettori
Born in Fiesole, Italy in 1981, Sofia Vettori began her studies at an early age with her father Paolo Vettori. She went on to receive her diploma in violin performance from the Mascagni Conservatory in Livorno. Specializing in varnish making, Sofia produces exceptionally beautiful instruments in both appearance and tone based off models from noted makers such as Santo Serafino, Domenico Montagnana, Guarneri del Gesu, and G.B. Guadagnini.
