REVIEW VIDEOS

When the host of the holiday party asks if your string quartet can play some Jewish music, now you can say yes! This suite of traditional and popular Jewish string quartet melodies can be performed in its entirety or as individual movements for wedding receptions, parties, and other events that could benefit from Jewish string quartet music. Some of these arrangements have a traditional Jewish sound, while others are more freely adapted interpretations of the melodies. The suite includes two traditional Chanukah songs. The movements range in difficulty level from intermediate to advanced. Suite includes Hava Nagila, Rock of Ages, Hevenu Shalom Alechem, Dona Dona, Mayim Mayim, Oseh Shalom, Bashana Habaa, Jerusalem of Gold, En Kelohenu Theme and Variations, and Chanukah Oh Chanukah. Great Suite!

I am a physician at UCSF who has as one of my main hobbies violin playing. Mr. Springers Jewish folk song suite is great. I have used it in the past for gigs for weddings, background music, etc. It was especially popular at a gig where much of the clientele were Jewish. The music is very readable.
Id highly recommend it to anyone looking to buy sheet music that sounds authentically Jewish--that can be played by a string quartet in many different settings from very informal to more formal.

Fun stuff!

I play lots of string quartet gigs for a wide variety of functions, and the Jewish Folksong Suite has consistently been very well-received over the years -- the arrangements are so well-done and fun that weve often even played them at non-Jewish occasions! Melodies are spread around nicely among the quartet so that 1st fiddle doesnt hog up all the fun tunes, and the arrangements are nicely complex without being overly difficult. Chanukkah, O Chanukkah has to be one of my favorite arrangements in my entire gigbook collection.

love these!

Its great when arrangements were written BY a string instrument player FOR other players, because you know that care was taken to make the pieces playable and enjoyable, and you wont be wasting time correcting impossible fingering silliness. The arrangements are really tastefully done, and a real kick to play!
