Fun Fantasias

These 12 Fantasias by Telemann are lots of fun to play. They're not nearly as complex as the Bach unaccompanied sonatas or partitas, and sometimes I have my students try some of these first. This year with one boy who always likes fiddle tunes that I teach, as the school year came to an end he wanted to try some fiddle tunes that were nice, So I showed him a few nice fiddle tunes and a couple of these fantasias and he picked the Fantasias to learn. I think these are on the border of classical and fiddle music. The 9th Fantasia is my favorite.
