Lower Bout: 243mm
String Length: 373mm

The back is of two pieces of maple cut on the quarter of narrow flaming extending downward from the center joint. The ribs and scroll are of similar maple. The top is of two pieces of spruce cut on the quarter of irregular width grain. The varnish is red-brown over a golden ground.

Thomas Oliver Croen began his career by attending the Violin Making School of America in 1977. He has won three gold medals at the Violin Society of America competition and has been awarded the title of “Hors Concours”. A member of the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers and former Board member for the VSA, Croen continues his work as an active maker and restorer.
