This violin is preowned. It has been evaluated, adjusted, and play-tested in our Ann Arbor shop.
Recommended for Beginners trying violin to see if they like it. An affordable alternative to a V.S.O. "Violin Shaped Object" that hinders new players success and discourages them from continuing.
As any teacher will tell you, a violin for a beginning student must function flawlessly and play with ease, producing a pleasant sound. The Amadeus does just that and has gone through a three step quality inspection process before you receive it.
Visually appealing, the Amadeus is made of quality maple, spruce and ebony. The hand feel is very smooth, and the sound is enhanced by Overture Premium strings and a carbon fiber tailpiece with 4 built-in fine tuners. The bridge is accurately carved, and the pegs turn smoothly. Made in China, inspected in our Ann Arbor workshop. Available in 4/4 - 1/16 sizes.

This item comes with Shar's 1 year warranty covering defects of workmanship or materials. General wear and tear or mis-use are not covered. Non-transferable.

I was really impressed by the quality of the pre-owned violin. The item came looking flawless. I struggled to find any imperfection anywhere, whether scratch or dent. It looks like it has never been used. The bridge, strings, etc were all in terrific shape. The violin itself sounds much better than I expected for an entry-level, student's violin. The violin was shipped securely, and I bought the accessories separately (bow, rosin, chinrest, and case) from the website. Overall, I've had a great experience with the pre-owned program.
I was very displeased when this arrived. I need to purchase a new chin rest, as the one on here is extremely uncomfortable and doesn't allow me to play it correctly. The strings were not cut into the bridge in proper positions, and the sound is "tinny." I would definitely not purchase this brand again, and I would reconsider purchasing any other instruments from here.
I was hesitant to buy a used violin as we have always bought new. Was very pleasantly surprised with the outstanding quality of the instrument. Will do again!
The service and communication during the purchase was exceptional. The condition of the violin exceeded our expectations. A great buying experience all the way around.
Our daughter broke her 1/2 sized violin and is maybe a year or less from moving up a size. With a sale price on a used violin it worked out great. My only complaint is that the violin did have some damage where the shoulder rest sits on the top edge. However, it appears Shar made the necessary repairs on it before sale and the quality seems just fine.
