Like most of Wohlfahrt's etudes, the 50 Easy Melodic Studies, Op. 74, are intended to teach and reinforce basic concepts of violin-playing. Exercises deal with string crossing, bow-strokes and bow distribution, tone, intonation, and general dexterity of the left hand, among other things. Book 2 contains studies 26 - 50, exploring the third position.
